GVL SmartEngine® is GlobalVetLink’s built-in compliance engine that evaluates interstate Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVIs) against state-to-state movement requirements as you create them.
SmartEngine provides real-time feedback during drafting to help ensure certificates are complete and compliant before submission.
What Does SmartEngine Check?
SmartEngine evaluates key CVI details, including:
- Species
- Origin and destination states
- Movement purpose
- Gender (when applicable)
- Required tests, vaccinations, and statements
- Time-sensitive test requirements
If required information is missing or does not meet interstate requirements, SmartEngine flags it within the workflow.
What to Expect
- Requirements update dynamically based on species and states selected
- Guidance is displayed in clear, plain language
- Applies to interstate CVIs only
- Final responsibility remains with the issuing veterinarian
How to Turn SmartEngine On or Off
- Start an interstate CVI.
- Locate the SmartEngine toggle in the top right corner.
- Turn it On to enable compliance checks or Off to disable them.
When enabled, alerts appear as you preview the certificate.
