Do the same rules apply if I am just visiting a country on holiday versus relocating permanently?

The requirements depend on the country you are visiting. Some countries will have different requirements depending on if you are visiting for pleasure with your pet or if you are relocating.

To determine the appropriate documentation and requirements needed visit the APHIS Pet Travel Website: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel.
