What is different between the UK rabies requirements and the EU rabies requirements?

Similar to the EU, the UK requires all primary vaccinations to be a 1 year vaccine and they must have a 21 day wait period after vaccination before they can enter the country.

For the EU form, the “Validity of Vaccination” has a start date of the date the vaccine was given through 1 year. For example, if the Primary rabies vaccination was given on 1/1/2021, the validity range would be 1/1/2021 - 12/31/2021. However, the pet would not be able to travel until 1/22/2021 because of the 21 day wait period. The validation check for this is built in to the GVL platform.

For the UK form, the “Validity of Vaccination” takes into account the 21 days waiting period. So, if the pet was vaccinated on 1/1/2021, the validity period would show on the form as 1/22/2021 - 1/21/2022.
