How to Share Records within your GlobalVetLink Account

Animal records can only be shared with another GlobalVetLink clinic. Follow the steps below to share records from your account.

1. Log into GVL and navigate to Records→ Animals
2. Locate the animal you want to share
3. Click ‘Actions’ in the Actions column
4. Select ‘Share animal’. A modal will appear.
5. Review the animal details.
6. Choose whether to include the animal owner’s record (optional).
7. Enter the zip code for the clinic you want to share the records with.
8. Select the receiving clinic from the dropdown and review the information to ensure it’s correct.
9.  Click ‘Share.’
10.  The receiving clinic will receive an email notification confirming the shared record.

Note: Shared records will be tagged as ‘Recently shared’ in the receiving clinic’s records.

Important notes:

• Before sharing a record, please ensure you have obtained the necessary consent from the animal owner.
  • It is recommended that consent be documented, whether it be noted on the medical record within your PMS or in a signed form. 
• You are responsible for complying with your state's Veterinary Practice Act.

• Certificates will remain with the issuing clinic. Copies of the certificates can be shared via email or printed copy.
