Editing a Signed International Health Certificate

GlobalVetLink works to seamlessly verify all export requirements for pets traveling internationally. Due to staffing and office preferences in the various VS Endorsement Offices, GVL allows you to edit a signed International Health Certificate to address any formatting requests or feedback from the USDA. 

If you have a need to edit a International Health Certificate that has already been digitally signed, follow the steps below:

Navigate to the respective International Health Certificate through one of the options below.

    • Recently signed tab:
      • In the list view table on the Recently signed tab, locate the respective certificate needing to be edited. In the Action actions column, click on the Actions dropdown and select Edit. 
      • Add the reason for editing in the dialog box that appears and click on Edit.
      • Once the certificate opens, proceed with editing content as needed. 
      • NOTE: While in the editing status, the document is considered a draft and will be moved into draft status. You will be required to finalize the document after editing in order to be able to download the updated certificate. 
    • Certificate Records Page: 
      • On the Certificate Records Page, search for the respective certificate.
      • Once the search results are returned, find the certificate in the Results listview table.
      • From the Actions column, select Edit. 
      • Add the reason for editing in the dialog box that appears and click on Edit.
      • Once the Pet certificate opens, proceed with editing content as needed.
      • NOTE: While in the editing status, the document is considered a draft and will be moved into draft status. You will be required to finalize the document after editing in order to be able to download the updated certificate.

Important Information Regarding Editing a Signed International Health Certificate:

  1. Editing is only allowed within 60 days of the ORIGINAL signing date.
  2. Only the veterinarian who originally signed the certificate can initiate an “Edit” and “Finalize” the International Health Certificate. Any user within the clinic can make changes to the certificate in the DRAFT status.
  3. The following information is NOT ALLOWED to be edited:
    • Destination Country.
    • Cannot remove the Owner or Pet (can still edit individual pieces of info on the profiles).
    • Inspection Date.
