EIA Scenario

You are the veterinarian for Peter Davis, who lives in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Today, you are pulling a blood sample for an EIA (Coggins) test for his horse Buddy. Using the information below, write EIA (Coggins) for Buddy. You can create the horse profile, including images, and address for the owner.

  • Horse Owner: Peter Davis

  • Horse: Buddy - Upload at least one image to save Buddy's profile

  • Horse Location: Peter Davis’ home

  • Lab: Arkansas Livestock & Poultry Commission

  • Test Type: ELISA

  • Date blood was drawn: Today’s date

  • State where the blood was drawn: AR

  • Date sent: Today’s date

  • Reason for test: Within state use/Annual

After entering the above information, click Save in the upper right corner of the create screen. Next, preview the PDF by hovering over More and selecting Preview PDF. If the information on the PDF looks correct, click Sign and enter your username and password to sign the EIA test certificate.

After signing the EIA test certificate, the Lab Submittal form will download. This is the form that would be sent with the blood sample to the lab. Because the sample would need to be resulted in order to view the final certificate, GVL University will only provide you with the Lab Submittal form. After an EIA test is resulted by the laboratory, it would move from the Awaiting Lab Result to the Recently Completed tab in the EIA view.
