How to Create and Use CVI Templates

CVI Templates allow you to save common shipment details so you can quickly create future CVIs without re-entering the same information.

They’re flexible! You can edit, duplicate, or delete them anytime, and adjust details for each shipment.

Creating a New CVI Template

  1. Log in to your GVL account
  2. From the navigation menu, go to Templates
  3. Click Create CVI template
  4. Fill out the template form:
    • Certificate type
    • Template name
    • Other applicable shipment details
  5. Click Save template

Tip: Keep template names clear so your team can easily find the right one later.

Using a CVI Template

  1. From the navigation menu, go to Templates
  2. Locate the template you want to use
  3. Click Actions→Create CVI
  4. The system will pre-fill the CVI form with saved details.
  5. Review all fields and update as needed
  6. Complete any additional required fields flagged by the system.
  7. Preview & sign the CVI

Editing an Existing Template

  1. From the navigation menu, go to Templates
  2. Locate the template you want to update
  3. Click Actions→Edit
  4. Make your changes
  5. Click Save template
    • This updates the template for all clinic users.

Duplicating an Existing Template

  1. From the navigation menu, go to Templates
  2. Locate the template you want to duplicate
  3. Click Actions→Duplicate
  4. The new copy will appear in your template list.

Tip: Duplicating is a quick way to make small changes without overwriting your original template.

Deleting a Template

  1. From the navigation menu, go to Templates
  2. Locate the template(s) you want to delete
  3. For a single template: Click Actions→Delete
    • For multiple templates: Select the checkboxes, click Actions (top right), then Delete.
  4. Confirm deletion.
    • This action cannot be undone
