How to: Generate a FedEx Shipping Label in GVL for IHC Submissions

For users submitting an International Health Certificate (IHC) that requires a wet-ink USDA endorsement, GVL now allows you to generate a FedEx shipping label directly within the IHC workflow—no more switching between platforms.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access the FedEx Label Option

  • In the IHC workflow, a new “Shipping” step has been added to the process when creating an IHC for a wet-inked endorsed country.
  • Alternatively, you can select the “Skip this step” option to bypass the GVL platform's generation of a return shipping label if you prefer to create and upload your own label outside of GVL.

2. Select a Shipping Address

  • In the Shipping address section, you will select the address to which you want the wet-ink USDA-endorsed International Health Certificate to be returned. Choose between:
    • Owner’s address (same as on the IHC)
    • Veterinary Clinic address
    • Manually entering an alternative address, if desired
  • Reminder: The selected address will be the label’s return location.

3. FedEx Label is Auto-Attached to Submission

  • When using the VEHCS Submission Generator, the FedEx Return Shipping label is automatically uploaded into your VEHCS account along with the IHC and supporting documents.
  • If you selected “Mail-In” instead of Submission Generator, you can still generate a FedEx label within GVL, print it with your certificate package, and mail it to the USDA with the other documents.
