How to: Agent & Owner Improvements

As part of the Agent & Owner Improvements, various enhancements across the GlobalVetLink platform aim to enable agents to access all certificates for animals they manage or own through a single login, regardless of the animal’s owner. 

An agent is someone who needs access to certificates for animals they don’t own, such as a trainer, barn manager, stable owner, or animal transporter.

Clinics can also assign multiple agents and/or owners to a single animal, supporting complex care teams and shared ownership scenarios. These improvements also allow for the creation of certificates for situations where the owner and animal are in different locations.

How to assign multiple Owners

1. Log in to GlobalVetLink
2. Navigate to Records→Animals
3. Locate the animal
4. Click Actions→Add owner(s) or choose Edit
5. Search for the owner(s) or click Create new
6. Select the appropriate name(s)
7. Click Save

How to assign Agents

Option 1: Add an agent to a single animal

1. Log in to GlobalVetLink
2. Navigate to Records→Animals
3. Locate the animal
4. Click Actions→Add agent(s) or choose Edit
5. Search for the agent or click Create new
6. Select the appropriate name(s)
7. Click Save

Option 2: Add an agent to multiple animals

1. Log in to GlobalVetLink
2. Navigate to Records→Animals
3. Select the checkbox next to each animal
4. Click Actions→Add agent(s)
5. Search for the agent or click Create new
6. Select the appropriate name(s)
7. Click Save

How to remove Agents or Owners

1. Log in to GlobalVetLink
2. Navigate to Records→Animals
3. Locate the animal
4. Click Actions→ Edit
5. Find the Agent or Owner to remove
6. Click Actions→Remove
7. Click Save

How to create a CVI for an agent

1. Log in to GlobalVetLink
2. Click Create on the Home page
3. Choose a CVI type
4. Under Consignor/Owner, search for and select the agent
5. Complete the required fields
6. Select animals that will be traveling
   • Note: The agent must already be assigned to the animal.
7. Review all CVI details
8. Sign the CVI

How to add a horse location to an EECVI

1. Log in to GlobalVetLink
2. Click Create on the Home page
3. Select EECVI
4. Enter the Owner/Client
5. Add the Horse
6. Add the Horse location
   • Search for or create a contact; or
   • Choose Same as owner

7. Complete the remaining required fields
8. Review and Commit the EECVI
