The guidance makes the following updates for EIA tests:

  • All non-negative samples must be submitted to the National Veterinary Services Laboratory for confirmatory testing
  • Laboratories can only accept samples from federally authorized Category II Accredited veterinarians
  • EIA tests must be submitted using the current federally approved EIA forms (VS Form 10-11, GVL, etc.)
  • All form information and data points are required and must be filled in or indicated as N/A. Incomplete forms will be rejected by the laboratory.

Additional updates have also been made in regards to laboratory approval and reporting. This document is a reference for an overview of the changes in the new guidance.
